ENCAMINA has successfully led ISECO’s digital transformation through a cloud migration project that has significantly improved both the quality of life of residents and the efficiency of professionals working in long-term care and healthcare facilities.
According to the European Commission’s 2023 Digital Decade Report, 68% of SMEs in Spain have already achieved a basic level of digitalisation, while 12.3% are incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into their processes. These figures reflect a clear trend: digitalisation is no longer optional for organisations seeking to deliver more personalised and predictive healthcare and social care services. For ISECO, a pioneer in developing technological solutions to digitalise processes in care facilities, this context provided the perfect opportunity to modernise and enhance its flagship software, CALAS, with the support of ENCAMINA and Microsoft cloud technology.
According to Vicente Collado, CEO of ISECO: «CALAS is the monitoring and communication platform that centrally manages all systems within a care facility. For years, it has been an essential tool in elderly care homes, helping them manage resources and provide better care to residents. At this stage, we believed it was time to unlock even greater potential. With the support of ENCAMINA, a Microsoft technology specialist, and through the adoption of the Azure platform, CALAS has become a much more powerful, flexible, and accessible solution.»
Microsoft cloud technology: a new era for CALAS
The adoption of Azure, Microsoft’s cloud platform, has been key to this transformation. Moving CALAS to the cloud not only optimises the operation of healthcare and social care facilities, but also enables the integration of new Microsoft capabilities such as artificial intelligence and advanced analytics.
Thanks to Azure, organisations can centrally manage all their systems, access information from anywhere, and ensure they are always working with the most up-to-date data.
Julio Palacios, Project Lead at ENCAMINA, explains:«Azure enables ISECO to integrate its solutions into an environment that not only ensures data protection, but also guarantees real-time accessibility and the ability to scale according to the needs of each customer. This evolution is particularly relevant for the healthcare and social care sector, where the management of critical information must be fast, secure, and reliable.»
ENCAMINA: the strategic partner for digital transformation
To make this transformation possible, ENCAMINA led the design and implementation of the project, ensuring the success of every stage of the cloud migration process.
From training ISECO’s team to identifying the Microsoft services best suited to each customer’s needs, ISECO and ENCAMINA worked together with a multidisciplinary team of experts to deliver this ambitious transformation.
The result of this joint effort is software that not only improves the lives of people living in residential care facilities, but also simplifies the daily work of healthcare professionals, enabling them to provide a more human, efficient, and secure service.
Tangible benefits for the healthcare and social care sector
The enhanced solution is expected to have a significant impact across the sector.
According to Vicente Collado: «Facilities using CALAS will benefit from a more robust solution, with higher levels of security and real-time responsiveness. In addition, the ongoing integration of Microsoft’s most advanced services ensures that these organisations remain at the forefront of technology without having to worry about future migrations or costly upgrades.»
Looking ahead, cloud-based data management is expected to unlock further advances for healthcare and social care facilities. These include the automation of routine tasks, personalised care based on data analysis, and the ability to anticipate residents’ future needs.
Furthermore, cloud-based CALAS opens the door to expanding beyond residential facilities into home care environments, making ISECO’s solutions more accessible and efficient for in-home assistance and transforming CALAS into an even more universal solution.
